- Sheinelle Jones revealed she almost threw out her wedding dress while sorting through unopened boxes during a move, on Thursday's show.
- The "Today" host found the dress, worn during her 2007 wedding with her late husband, Uche Ojeh, in an old suitcase.
- Jones and Ojeh had three children together before he died in May 2025 from brain cancer.
A hectic move almost cost Sheinelle Jones an important piece of her past with late husband Uche Ojeh.
During Thursday's episode of *Today With Jenna & Sheinelle**, *the cohost shared how she almost threw out the dress she wore to her 2007 wedding to her late husband while sorting through boxes in preparation to move for the first time in years.
"I'm moving," Jones explained to her cohost Jenna Bush Hager and audience. "The kids are going to a new school, so we're moving. I have been going through boxes and boxes and boxes in our basement. It might as well just be storage, and there have been boxes literally piled up from when I moved from Philadelphia that we never even opened."
"I started, after a while, not even wanting to look through boxes. I'm like, 'Just throw it out. If I haven't seen it in five years, just throw it out,'" Jones told the babysitter helping her. "'And she's like, 'No, Sheinelle. We've got to go through everything.'"

It was her babysitter who brought up the absence of Jones' wedding dress, which the anchor assumed was somewhere with her mother.
"I just didn't know where my wedding dress was," Jones said. "So look what happened. I found this old suitcase and I unzipped it, and it was my wedding dress."
Jones shared a clip of the discovery with the *Today *audience, which showed her wearing a protective face mask and pulling the strapless embellished ivory gown out of a bag.
"I remember everybody telling me that you're supposed to get it preserved and I didn't," she told Hager. "Uche and I took pictures all over the streets of Philadelphia, so the bottom of it is all [dirty]. So now, obviously, I see it differently. I'm like, 'Oh, my goodness, I never had it preserved. Is it too late?'"

Jones and Ojeh, whose full name was Uchechukwuka Adenola Ojeh, were college sweethearts. They first met at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., in the late '90s when she, then a freshman, offered to show him, a visiting high school senior, around campus. The couple married in Jones' hometown of Philadelphia in 2007, and went on to have three children: son Kayin, 16, and fraternal twins Clara and Uche, 13.
In May 2025, Jones' *Today* cohosts revealed that Ojeh had died from an aggressive form of brain cancer at 45, paying tribute to him on the show. He was a managing partner at UAO Consulting.

Jones also revealed that her wedding dress wasn't the only token of the past she was able to save while going through her basement.
"I kept pretty much everything," she admitted, adding that she found and saved the bumpers from her three children's cribs.
"Well, those you need to get rid of. Tell me you didn't keep the bumpers, Sheinelle!" Hager pressed her. "Of course you keep the things that are sentimental, but the baby bumpers? Those you can donate or get rid of."
When Jones admitted that she kept the bumpers for sentimental value, Hager offered to come and "get ruthless with it" to aid her cohost before her move.
