- The 2026 Oscar nominations changed the state of the race. Now, see EW's winner predictions.

- Timothée Chalamet, *Sinners*, *One Battle After Another*, *KPop Demon Hunters*, and more are top contenders.

- Conan O'Brien returns as 98th Academy Awards host on March 15.

After decades of ignoring horror films at large, the 2026 Oscars have rewritten the sins of Academy Awards history by anointing Ryan Coogler's *Sinners* as the most-nominated movie of all time. But will the feat be enough to push it into the Oscars' winners' circle over *One Battle After Another*?

At the end of 2025, things seemed buttoned up for Paul Thomas Anderson's thriller *One Battle After Another* to steamroll the season. While that's still a realistic scenario, cross-branch support at the Oscars (to the tune of a landmark 16 overall nominations) indicates collective passion *might've* shifted toward *Sinners* in recent weeks.

Tying the prior record for most nods by one film (14) is an impressive feat, as *La La Land* managed to do for the first time since 1997's *Titanic* back in 2017. But *Sinners* not only met the challenge, it surpassed the benchmark by two, meaning every eligible branch that could vote for the movie, did.

Oscar nominations morning is *not* the time for any contender to lose momentum, whether it's real interest among voters or even falling a few places back in the Oscars publicity machine. *One Battle* has, effectively, dominated the conversation for months; after attention shifted back to *Sinners* following its monumental box-office run, it seemed that enthusiasm could jump ship from Anderson's latest as Coogler's genre masterwork rises in its place.

However, *One Battle After Another *surged back at the Directors Guild of America Awards, where Anderson scored the ceremony's top prize over Coogler, clearing a path for the *Magnolia* director's Oscar victory as well.

Despite a narrative fueling *Sinners'* resurgence (with Coogler helming a predominantly Black cast en route to just under $370 million at the global box office, all for an original story with no foundational source material), the film isn't without its critics. Many have found it to be overly long and perhaps too experimental for some commercial tastes, while *One Battle* is a "safer" and more traditional option. But money talks, and *Sinners*' audience appeal is something Hollywood desperately needs right now, amid the age of what many consider to be a bleak era of sequel-soaked, IP-driven slop.

2026 Oscar nominees: Jacob Elordi, Timothée Chalamet, and more

2026 Oscar nominees: Jacob Elordi, Timothée Chalamet, and more.

While we're shifting back to *One Battle *for Best Picture, *Sinners* will generate even more traction at SAG's 2026 Actor Awards on March 1, where the film will likely earn the top competitive honor for its ensemble. There, the film also earned five individual nods from the largest Hollywood union — a group that shares huge crossover membership with the Academy.

On paper, though, *One Battle *still* *managed to outdo *Sinners* at the Actor Awards, earning at least one nomination in every Actor Award category (including for its stunt ensemble) — and two for Supporting Actor contenders Benicio Del Toro and Sean Penn.

That push and pull could point to another Best Picture/Best Director split ahead, with *One Battle*'s tight direction finally scoring Anderson his first victory in the category, while stronger overall cross-branch support for *Sinners* (and what the film represents) resulting in enough passionate, top-ballot placements for the film to squeeze it into the winner's circle for Best Picture.

At the Oscars, the acting winners still feel safe and secure. Timothée Chalamet's performance in *Marty Supreme* cleaned up at most precursor awards ceremonies (including the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards), as has Jessie Buckley's leading turn in *Hamnet*. *One Battle*'s Teyana Taylor is also in a safe spot, with her track record showing resilience in the later stages of the race.

Oscars

While the film only scored one nomination, Rose Byrne's work in *If I Had Legs I'd Kick You *did triumph at the Indie Spirits ahead of final Oscar voting, and it's always good to get more eyeballs (and publicity) for a given performance at this vital stage.

Supporting Actor also feels less assured. Yes, Stellan Skarsgård triumphed at the Globes (and the all-important European Film Awards showered *Sentimental Value* with love at its annual ceremony), but Jacob Elordi's work in *Frankenstein* is the most physically transformative turn in the bunch. If he wins with SAG voters (as the populist group often heralds more commercially friendly, starrier performances), expect the *Euphoria* star to repeat at the Oscars.

Before the 2026 Oscars winners are revealed Sunday, March 15, during the ABC telecast, read on for **'s full list of 98th Academy Awards winner predictions.**

Truth About 'America's Next Top Model' Photos Revealed: 'The Whole Thing Was Orchestrated'

Former America's Next Top Model judge Jay Manuelhas offered even more insight into the controversial reality TV show following the recent bombshell Netflix docuseries Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model, now sharing the truth about the so-called "best photos" for the models each week.

On America's Next Top Model, the models would compete with photoshoots each week, and their best photos from that shoot would be compared and used to determine, at least in part, who would be staying on for the next week and who would be going home. However, Manuel has now alleged that those "best photos" weren't exactly what they seemed, particularly several cycles into the show.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Manuel explained, "The level of manipulation that went on with the photos, I mean, it was laughable. This is not in the documentary. Let's back it up to Cycle 3; I'm just going to say Cycle 3, for example. I selected the photos, and Tyra [Banks] saw the final CoverGirl ads and would think these are beautiful. Going into Cycle 4, it was asked of me, 'Hey, instead of just pulling the best photo, can you pull, like, the top ten?' And Tyra would look at the top ten, and I would suggest; I'd put a star on the one I'm like this is the one I think is her best shot and why."

Manuel continued, "Then, I started getting notes, 'Can you send us all of the film for so-and-so? Then, way down the line, when I had zero control, I wasn't a producer, literally they would say, 'We don't love this girl's film, but we need her to go another week.' Oh, the whole thing was orchestrated, and I'm not afraid to say it."

Based on what Manuel has alleged, America's Next Top Model may not have been as organic, in terms of its competition, as it would have viewers believe. However, in light of the many topics covered in the new docuseries—from instances of body shaming to pressure for contestants to have their teeth removed and so much more—this is perhaps one of the less damaging claims that have been leveraged against the show in recent memory.

As *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms* wraps up its debut season, the other *Game of Thrones* prequel is back in action.

The first *House of the Dragon* season 3 trailer arrives Thursday with a closer look at the penultimate run. Showrunner Ryan Condal and HBO CEO Casey Bloys signaled season 4 (premiering in 2028) will be the last, so we're now fully in the thick of all-out war.

"You are the Queen of Dragons," Matt Smith's Daemon Targaryen declares before Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy). "You have an absolute power within your grasp."

The footage shows our first glimpses of the aftermath to the season 2 finale, in which Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) promised to hand over King's Landing to Rhaenyra. Though, the Blacks are already warning their queen to be wary.

Season 3 will also adapt the Battle of the Gullet, as told in George R. R. Martin's fictional chronology of the Targaryen empire, *Fire and Blood*. It's considered to be one of the bloodiest sea battles in Westeros history. The trailer gives us our first real look at the bloodshed to come as Rhaenyra's son, Jace (Harry Collett), rides into the fray on dragonback.

"In many ways, the Gullet has been on the minds of the production for about three years now, and trying to figure out how we were going to mount it in a way that was both producible and exciting, thrilling," Condal previously teased the event to **. "The planning that has gone into this...basically all departments working in concert to really make a thing that nobody has ever done before."

The season 3 trailer continues with lots of dramatic sound bites and flashes of our core figures preparing for the impending onslaught. We also see flashes of Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney), who fled King's Landing at the end of season 2 with Larys Strong (Matthew Needham). In his absence, Aegon's brother, Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), is getting a little too comfy on the Iron Throne.

Setting the stage for season 3, Condal relayed, "I will say that the war this season goes very hot, very, very quickly. I think the people that were waiting and waiting for all of the horrible, brutal, pitiless bloodshed will be getting it in copious amounts."

This first trailer drops during an interesting time for the *Game of Thrones* fandom. *The Hollywood Reporter* published a profile on Martin, the creator of this world, back in January, in which the author and executive producer described his "abysmal" relationship with Condal over the creative direction of *House of the Dragon*. Fans have been talking about it online ever since, especially now as HBO kicks off the promotional push for season 3.

Martin notably published and then quickly deleted a blog post in August 2024 that was meant to be the first of six entries detailing all of his issues with the TV adaptation. *THR* reported Martin is now back consulting on *House of the Dragon*, but he's no longer commenting on the situation.

Condal previously told EW, in part, "I will simply say, I made every effort to include George in the adaptation process. I really did. Over years and years. And we really enjoyed a mutually fruitful, I thought, really strong collaboration for a long time. But at some point, as we got deeper down the road, he just became unwilling to acknowledge the practical issues at hand in a reasonable way. And I think as a showrunner, I have to keep my practical producer hat on and my creative writer, lover-of-the-material hat on at the same time."

He also expressed his hope for him and Martin to "rediscover that harmony someday." (Read his full statement.)

Regardless, the dragons are indeed back. *House of the Dragon* season 3 will premiere this June on HBO.**

Thomas Shelby is a changed man... at least for now.

In the just-released official trailer for *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man* — the film that will conclude the former show's story — Cillian Murphy's infamous gangster has retreated from his life when he gets word that his son, played by Barry Keoghan, is "running the Peaky Blinders like it's 1919 all over again," as Ada (Sophie Rundle) tells Tommy.

"The father and son were the main structures," series creator Steven Knight tells * *of the idea behind the finale film, which he admits has changed slightly in the four years since season 6 aired. But the general idea is the same, and now, Knight is breaking down the trailer exclusively for EW and revealing a bit more about what to expect from Thomas Shelby's final farewell.

"You live in a house haunted with ghosts of people who died because of you"

The trailer kicks off with a quote from Rebecca Ferguson's new character, Kaulo. "She just sort of takes over, in a really good way," Knight says of adding Ferguson to the cast. Although the details of her character are being kept under wraps, Knight knew he wanted her to serve a specific purpose within the *Peaky Blinders* universe.

"I wanted her to reflect the tradition of powerful female characters and the fact that* Peaky* has always been a bit supernatural," he says. "I wanted the idea of destiny and fate, and is it fate or is it your own choice and free will and all that. She's just such a great actor."**

The Gypsy son

Ferguson isn't the only new face in the mix. As her character also tells Tommy, he's abandoned his kingdom...and his son.

"I never leap on board when people start saying about an actor, 'Oh my God, he's got this stillness,'" Knight says of casting Keoghan as Tommy's son. "You start using all these words about an actor. But with him, it's all true. I wanted him to be the son from the beginning, and when we knew we got him, he took it to another level. Who he is in real life is perfect for this. He's just so good."**

As for the final shot of the trailer, Knight admits, "Just to see those two in The Garrison on either side of the bar drinking whiskey — didn't get any better for me. "

'Peaky Blinders' star Cillian Murphy on a decade of playing Thomas Shelby

Peaky Blinders

"I'm not that man anymore"

When we find Tommy, he's not the gangster of earlier seasons. He's hung up his suit, and he's left Birmingham behind.

Technically speaking, it's been years since we last saw him riding off on a white horse, and he's yet to recover from losing so many of his loved ones, in particular his daughter, Ruby (Heaven-Leigh Clee). "He's in a very bad place," Knight says. "He's withdrawn from the world. He's haunted by his life and the things he's done."

But ultimately, Tommy has always been driven by family, and that will be the thing that makes him once again grab his lethal newsboy cap. "For family, he's invited to come back to the world and save his son," Knight says.

Previously, Knight had said the series would end with the first siren sounding for World War II. This film, however, takes place a few years later than originally planned, dropping viewers into Birmingham in 1940, as the chaos of WWII is already underway. "That was my original idea when I first started writing episode 1 of series 1," Knight clarifies.

But after sitting with the story — and finding inspiration from a few historical events — Knight decided to tweak his original plan. As for why he's ending things on a movie and not another season? "The plan was always to do series 6, series 7, and then the movie. But the pandemic happened, so we didn't do 7. So rather than delay, we went straight to the film. But it was always the plan to finish with a feature film. It's a good way to end it."

*Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man *hits select theaters on March 6, followed by Netflix on March 20.

Daniel Radcliffe is not trying to go down any yellow brick roads, anytime soon.

While chowing down on scorchingly spicy wings during Thursday's episode of First We Feast's *Hot Ones*, host Sean Evans asked the 36-year-old the actor to share the "most bizarre or unique pitch" he's ever said yes to. Instead, Radcliffe recalled what he dubbed "one of the worst ideas I've ever heard," which turned out to be a film idea involving his former *Harry Potter *costars, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, in an...interesting remake of *The Wizard of Oz*.**

"Somebody came to us and I think asked, like they wanted to cast all three of us, me, Emma and Rupert, as, in a remake of *Wizard of Oz*, where Emma was Dorothy, I can't remember what Rupert was, and I just remember that I was gonna be the lion but also he knew karate," Radcliffe told Evans, which kicked off bout of laughter from the veteran host. "I was like a karate-kicking cowardly lion."

*The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins* star quipped that even though he was young, he was old enough to have reservations. "I was like 14 or 15, and I was like, 'I don't know a lot about the world, but this is a bad idea and it should not be made.'"

Radcliffe previously shared the tidbit at a press junket for his 2014 romcom, *What If *(released in some countries as *The F Word*). At the time, he recalled that Grint had been suggested for the roles of either the Tin Man or Scarecrow.

"I remember thinking, 'That person is the laziest, craziest person in the world,'" he said, adding that it was "quite funny," per *The Independent*.**

Radcliffe has been taking frequent trips down memory lane recently, especially as he and his former castmates get ready to pass the baton to a new trio of* *actors taking over their former roles as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the father of one shared that the original Golden Trio has been in contact with each other as the HBO Max TV adaptation began production in July. The upcoming adaptation of J.K. Rowling's young adult series will star newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton as the Boy Who Lived, everyone's favorite redhead, and the cleverest witch of her age, respectively.

Radcliffe told the outlet that he, Grint, and Watson have been discussing "how surreal [it is] to watch people starting off on that journey, all those years later."

"It's one of those where I think we all just know how the others feel, because we're also feeling it," he shared, noting that he and his former costars haven't had "a ton of communication about the show specifically," but they're all feeling similar emotions. "You just see the pictures of these kids, and you just want to grab them and hug them. That's the impulse that I think that we, mainly, all have."

The series is set to debut in 2027 with showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod at the helm. It has been billed as a faithful adaptation, expanding each of Rowling's seven books into individual seasons.

Other cast members of the star-studded ensemble include: John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Ollivander.

Franchise alum Warwick Davis, who played Professor Filius Flitwick across all eight *Harry Potter* films, is reprising his role for the HBO series.**

Jennifer Aniston is wading into the wild and windy moors of *Wuthering Heights* with a little help from Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. **

The *Friends* actress recently posted a throwback clip from the beloved '90s sitcom on Instagram that featured her character Rachel and Lisa Kudrow's Phoebe studying Emily Brontë's 1847 novel as part of a literature class. **

The season 5 snippet shows Green arriving to the class late without having actually read the book, which leads her to ask Phoebe to fill her in on its complicated plot.

"You said you read it in high school," Phoebe remarks, to which Rachel replies, "Yeah, but then I remembered I started it and then there was the pep rally and I was, I was on top of the pyramid." **

Phoebe, in turn, begins relaying the story to her. "It's this tragic love story between Cathy and Heathcliff, and it takes place on these really creepy moors in England, which I think represent the wildness of Heathcliff's character," she says. "I totally get symbolism!"

And now, following the release of Emerald Fennell's newest film adaptation of the gothic classic starring Robbie and Elordi, Aniston joked that she doesn't have to pick up the book, either. **

"Thanks to Margot and Jacob, no reading required," she captioned her post.**

Robbie and Elordi star as Cathy and Heathcliff in the film, which chronicles the dramatic, obsessive, and toxic relationship between the pair of pseudo-siblings.

Speaking with **, Robbie revealed that she fell in love with the world of *Wuthering Heights *after reading Fennell's script. **

"My first foray into the world of Cathy and Heathcliff was in her script, and then I went and read the book — and I've read it a few times now and adore it — and it's just so incredible," Robbie said. "But I connected with their relationship quite quickly, even though it did take me a little bit to find the character."

Elordi added that he felt he truly connected with Heathcliff the moment they began filming in the Yorkshire moors. (The ones Phoebe mentioned!) **

"When we got out of the studio and into the moors, there's a magic up there that Brontë captured in her book, and it did feel like we all breathed that air in and became the character in a way," he explained. "Including the crew...It was those moments that felt like connecting to the script."

Still, Aniston may not want to skip Brontë's book if she wants to have the complete *Wuthering Heights *experience. Fennell's film chronicles only the first half of the novel, with several characters omitted and plot points changed along the way.

Fennell told EW that it became clear to her early in the filmmaking process that she "wanted to make something that was my response and interpretation to that book and to the feeling" of *Wuthering Heights *rather than a direct retelling.

"It was funny, you know, I think the things that I remembered were both real and not real," she said of the book. "So there was a certain amount of wish fulfillment in there, and there were whole characters that I'd sort of forgotten or consolidated."

That being said, she'd love the chance to adapt both sections of the novel into a television series. "I think, really, I would do a mini series and encompass the whole thing over 10 hours, and it would be beautiful," she said. "But if you're making a movie, and you've got to be fairly tight, you've got to make those kinds of hard decisions."**

*Percy Jackson and the Olympians* has added some Disney royalty to the season 3 cast.

** has confirmed that Disney Princess actor Ming-Na Wen has joined the series as Hera, the queen of Olympus and matriarch to all the Greek gods.

The *Mulan* legend will guest-star beginning in season 3, and fans of Rick Riordan's book series know just how pivotal this character is.

Not only is Hera the wife of Zeus (Courtney B. Vance, who took over the role from the late Lance Reddick), she's also the goddess of marriage and family. That means Zeus' infidelity, which led to the creation of his demigod child Thalia (Tamara Smart), is a personal offense to his wife. Essentially she hates all demigod children, because they all come from affairs between gods and humans, and that leads to plenty of conflict for Percy (Walker Scobell) and his friends.

And according to Hera's official character description for the show, Zeus' affair "rankles her." Described as "regal, maternal, and no-nonsense," Hera finds "leverage" in the family politics of Olympus due to having godly children on the council alongside her.

Best known for voicing the titular Disney Princess in *Mulan*, Wen can also be seen on the *Star Wars* series *The Mandalorian* and* The Book of Boba Fett*, as well as Marvel's *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*

Meanwhile, two more Greek gods have been cast for season 3. Jennifer Beals will play Demeter, the goddess of agriculture, the harvest, and the cycle of life and death. According to her character description, she's "a respected sister of Zeus" and "remembers the war against the Titans very well, and will do what she must to prevent the return of her father Kronos [Nick Boraine]."

*Flashdance* icon Beals has previously appeared with Wen on *Book of Boba Fett*, and her other screen credits include *The L Word*, *The L Word: Generation Q*, and* Luckiest Girl Alive*.

And Hubert Smielecki will play Apollo, the dazzling and charismatic god of the sun as well as music, poetry, archery, and prophecy. He is described as "the literal golden boy of Olympus and twin brother to the goddess Artemis [Dafne Keen], the moon to his sun."

'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' stars on season 3 moments they're excited to film (exclusive)

Disney's "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" stars Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover.

Relative newcomer Smielecki was recently seen in flashbacks on Netflix's *Ransom Canyon*.

*Percy Jackson and the Olympians* season 3 will adapt the story of *The Titan's Curse*, the third book in Riordan's best-selling series. However, a massive twist in the season 2 finale teased potential changes from the source material with the circumstances surrounding Thalia's return, since she didn't die fighting the Furies like everyone has believed. Her father, Zeus, actually turned her into a tree against her wishes because she renounced him and refused to be his "weapon" against Kronos.

***Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter***.

"The last line of the *Sea of Monsters* book is Percy looking at Thalia and saying, 'I was looking at a person who could be my best friend or my worst enemy.' There's a huge promise to that, that we just want to make sure that we play that," executive producer Craig Silverstein previously told EW. "And it plays a lot better if Thalia has a real grudge against her father and Olympus. It makes everything to come just that much more active and real. It feels like a huge change. It's a huge shock."

*Percy Jackson* season 3 is currently in production, and will debut later this year on Disney+.

*Variety* first reported this casting news.

Eric Dane used this final interview before his death to share some words of wisdom for his teen daughters, Billie and Georgia.

The late actor's family announced his death on Thursday, sharing that Dane had died at the age of 53, following a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). His death occurred just 10 months after Dane announced that he had been diagnosed with the debilitating disease.

Throughout his battle against ALS, the former *Grey's Anatomy* star was candid about his daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, whom he shared with his estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart, being his motivation to fight the disease. That sentiment is rife in the final words he shared during his taping of Netflix's *Famous Last Words* in November 2025 — an interview that he understood would only be released after he had passed. The episode was released Friday, a day after Dane's death.**

"Billie and Georgia, these words are for you," Dane said while speaking directly to the camera to deliver his final public thoughts to his children. "I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall we had a blast, didn't we? I remember all the times we spent at the beach, the two of you, me and mom -- in Santa Monica, Hawaii, Mexico. I see you now playing in the ocean for hours, my water babies. Those days, pun intended, were heaven."

Dane, whose mobility had visibly deteriorated since he shared his diagnosis in April 2025, said to his daughters that he wanted to share "four things I've learned from this disease," adding that he hoped they "don't just listen to me. I hope you'll hear me."

"First, live now. Right now. In the present. It's hard, but I learned to do that," he began. "For years, I have been wandering around mentally and lost in my head for long chunks of time, wallowing and worrying in self-pity, shame, and doubt. I've replayed decisions, second-guessed myself. 'I shouldn't have done this. I never should've that.' No more. Out of pure survival, I am forced to stay in the present. But I don't want to be anywhere else. The past contains regrets. The future remains unknown. So you have to live now. The present is all you have. Treasure it. Cherish every moment."

The second thing Dane said he learned was the importance of falling in love. "Not necessarily with a person, although I do recommend that as well. But fall in love with something. Find your passion, your joy. Find the thing that makes you want to get up in the morning, drives you through the entire day."

"I fell in love for the first time when I was about your age. I fell in love with acting," he went on. "That love eventually got me through my darkest hours, my darkest days, my darkest year. I still love my work, I still look forward to it, I still want to get in front of a camera and play my part. My work doesn't define me, but it excites me. Find something that excites you. Find your path, your purpose, your dream. Then go for it. Really go for it."**

Third was to choose their friends wisely. Dane told his daughters to "find your people and allow them to find you. And then give yourselves to them. The best of them will give back to you. No judgment, no conditions, no questions asked."

"I'm so thankful for my very close family and friends. Every single one has stepped up," he shared. "I can't do little things I used to do. I can't drive around, go to the gym, get coffee, hang out. But I've learned to embrace alternatives. My friends come to me, we eat together, watch a game, listen to music. They don't do anything special, they just show up. That's a big one. Just show up. And love your friends with everything you have. Hang onto them. They will entertain you, guide you, help you, support you, and some will save you."

***Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.***

For his final bit of wisdom, Dane told his daughters to do something that he bravely exemplified during his final months. "Fight with every ounce of your being, and with dignity," he said. "When you face challenges, health or otherwise, fight. Never give up. Fight until your last breath. This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit."

"The two of you are different people. But you're both strong and resilient. You inherited resiliency from me. That's my superpower," the *Charmed *alum quipped. "You knock me down, I bounce right up, and I keep coming back. I get up again, and again, and again. Mark says I'm like a cat, except a cat has nine lives, and I'm on number 15 — easily. So when something unexpected hits you, and it will because that's life, fight and face it with honesty, integrity, and grace, even if it feels or seems insurmountable."

Concluding his message, Dane told his daughters that he hoped he had shown them that they could face "anything."

"You can face the end of your days. You can face hell with dignity. Fight, girls, and hold your heads high," the father of two passionately finished. "Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words."**

After sharing his diagnosis, Dane became the face of a public campaign to find federal funding for research on the incurable neurological disease. In September, a noticeably less mobile Dane joined doctors and representatives from the I Am ALS organization for a discussion with California Congressman Eric Swalwell about investing in innovative treatments to ensure access to quality care for those diagnosed with ALS, as well as their families and researchers.

Dane had also been brutally honest about the reality of his ailment as he navigated his rapidly progressing disease. But despite the bleakness of his situation, the actor described his spirit as buoyant to interviewer Brad Falchuk as he reflected on his life for the posthumous interview series. "There's no reason for me to be happy in any individual moment, but I am."

"Eric and I were the same age when we discussed his life and legacy, so the conversation felt uniquely moving and personal," Falchuk said in a statement. "There was no self-pity in Eric. He refused to complain. He was brave, soulful, charming, joyful, grateful, and hilarious — and when he flashed that smile, he was undeniably still a leading man. His final words at the end of the episode are truly beautiful. I will miss him."

Eric Dane's episode of *Famous Last Words* is available to stream on Netflix.**
