Keith Urban knows how to keep things in perspective — just ask Lainey Wilson.

The "4x4xU" singer revealed that Urban has given her lots of helpful advice over the years, including a hilariously blunt take on her exhaustion amid a busy schedule.

"I ran into him and I was so tired. I had been on the road, I think we played 180-something shows that year. And I saw him and I was telling him, I was just like, 'I'm tired,'" she said on the March 1 episode of No Filter with Kate Langbroek. "And he was like, 'No whining on the yacht.' And I was like, 'Keith, you better get up out my face.'"

Wilson, 33, said Urban, 58, with whom she duets on his song "Go Home W U," has also offered some wisdom on how to keep herself grounded amid her skyrocketing success.

"He told me not long ago, it's better to maintain balance than always be trying to achieve it," she said. "So to me that means, figure out what works for you. Have work-life balance and don't lose that, because once you do and you're kind of lopsided, then it's hard to get back."

For his part, Urban has sung Wilson's praises in interviews, telling Inked Magazine last year that the reigning CMA Awards Entertainer of the Year has "swagger for days."

"I love Lainey's voice; to hear her sing - you just know who she is," he said. "She can make herself at home anywhere, and that's why people love her."

Meanwhile, Wilson revealed that she's got other people in the country world to lean on, too, like Miranda Lambert, who advised her that the Nashville scene is "20% music and 80% business."

Wilson told Langbroek that she even started jotting down words of wisdom from fellow country stars in a little section on her phone.

"[Lambert] called me over to her farm and she was like, 'You need to take a nap. And then we got some stuff to talk about.' And she's like, 'You got to yes, work, do your thing, but you have got to put your feet in the dirt. You have got to do the things that you grew up doing because your feet can get lifted up off the ground quick,'" Wilson recalled. "I can see how it happens."

The star released her fifth album, Whirlwind, in 2024, and is in the midst of planning a wedding with fiancé Devlin "Duck" Hodges, to whom she was engaged last February.
