Comic Nick Swardson shared a health update from his hospital bed, revealing that he was about to get his appendix out after initially mistaking the pain for food poisoning or a "super fart."
"Hi everybody! It's Nick Swardson, with more life advice," the comic, 49, began in a deadpan voice from his hospital bed. "Hey, if you have a sharp pain in your abdomen, don't assume it's a 'super fart'," the Grandma's Boy alum, who had an oxygen tube under his nose, cautioned, in the Instagram video shared on Wednesday, June 17.
"Or, like I did, food poisoning," Swardson said. "It can actually be your appendix, which is what I'm going into surgery for right now." The comic offered more details in the caption, revealing "luckily it didn't burst."
He shared that the pain began in the middle of filming an undisclosed project, with the longtime Adam Sandler collaborator promising that he'll "explain what I'm filming later."
Swardson went on to urge people to "get that checked out. Don't wait on a sharp abdomen pain."

He ended by taking a swipe at close pal, fellow comic David Spade, quipping, "Shortly, I'm getting David Spade removed from my phone."

His post was met with well wishes and tales of appendix woes from fans and friends — including Vanilla Ice, his costar in the 2020 Netflix movie The Wrong Missy, who wrote, "I got rid of that thing when I was 16. Crashed my dirtbike stabbed it into my abdomen and had it removed on a [helicopter] on the way to the hospital. Lol. Get it out of there. We don't even know what it does anyway. And Spade will always haunt you even if you remove his number. Love you buddy take care of yourself."
Spade himself also commented, writing, "This is what happens when Howie gets out of the closet."
Actor Kevin Nealon also showed support, telling Swardson, "Dude! Hurry back. Cameras are waiting for you on the windmill hole!!!🥴."
