Gad has praised his mother's efforts to support him and his brothers as a single mother over the years in various social media posts

Josh Gad is asking his fans to keep his mother Susan in their thoughts.

Gad, 45, wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, March 11, that he had to abandon a planned trip to Disneyland Paris to visit the theme park's new Frozen-themed section to be by his mother's side.

"So truly heartbroken that I arrived today to take a tour and celebrate the new New World of Frozen at @disneylandparis this week and instead have to leave tomorrow morning (before I even have a chance to see any of it) to be with my mother who is unfortunately dealing with a serious medical emergency," he wrote in a caption on his post.

Gad, who lends his voice to the Frozen movies as the lovable snowman Olaf, wrote in his post that his visit to the new theme park will have to wait until after it opens on April 29.

"I look forward to coming back and seeing this magic with the masses!" he wrote at the end of his caption. "In the meantime, please keep my mom in your prayers. She needs all the good energy she can get.🙏."

The Wedding Ringer star did not specify what kind of medical emergency his mother is experiencing.

The actor has publicly praised his mother several times in the past, including a June 2024 birthday tribute on Instagram in which he wrote of Susan's efforts to raise him and his two brothers as a single parent.

"A lot of people think they have the greatest mom on the planet, but I know for a fact that that title belongs singularly to my mother @susangad who not only raised me and my brothers as a single mother, but insisted that we follow our dreams at all costs, even if it meant she had to work non-stop to give us that opportunity," he wrote at that time.

"I love you so much Mom," the caption continued. "Thank you for guiding me, teaching me, loving me, protecting me, challenging me and lifting me. You are a one-of-a-kind. Happy birthday!!! Love you!"

When Gad turned 44 in February 2025, he posted a childhood photo of himself posing with his mother next to a grand piano and wrote that all birthday wishes should be directed her way.

"Thank you all for all the birthday love, but as I've always said, it's the person who carried us, delivered us and gave us a fighting shot who deserves to be celebrated," he wrote on Instagram at that time. "So please congratulate Susan Gad today, my amazing mother."
