About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Lone'er Kavanagh and Ramazan Temirov meet on the UFC 333 main card at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.
Lone'er Kavanagh (10-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has been up-and-down during his brief UFC tenure and will enter UFC 333 off a rear-naked choke submission loss to former flyweight title challenger Brandon Royval.
Temirov (20-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) will look to stay perfect in the UFC with his fourth win in a row after a first-round knockout of former title challenger Steve Erceg to earn a Performance of the Night bonus in July.
Serving as a solid flyweight fight on the main card is a striker's delight between Kavanagh and Temirov.
Both men are making fairly quick turnarounds from their previous fights, which makes sense for Temirov considering his quick win over Steve Erceg. Kavanagh, on the other hand, is coming off of the wrong end of a three-round war with Brandon Royval that saw him hurt on multiple occasions.
I don't think it was wise of Kavanagh or his management to take this kind of a fight off of a hard loss, but I also said something similar when the Chinese Irishman stepped up on short notice to fight Brandon Moreno at elevation, so what do I know?
What I do know is that this is one of the trickier fights to call on the card. Kavanagh has stronger kicks and counters, but he plays his defense too fast and loose on his feet for me to comfortably pick him opposite a puncher like Temriov.
The official pick is for Temirov to score another knockout in Round 1.
The oddsmakers and the public have this fight at pick'em odds, listing Kavanagh and Temirov at -110 apiece via FanDuel.
Kavanagh and Temirov are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 3:10 p.m. ET. The fight streams live on Paramount+ .
