Jenny Mollen is showing fans what “surviving” looks like on the heels of her split from Jason Biggs.
Despite sharing a video of her prancing through a field, Mollen admits to being “massively depressed” amid the couple’s separation.
Mollen and Biggs were together for 18 years and share two sons, Lazlo, 8, and Sid, 12.
Jenny Mollen is offering a glimpse into how she’s “surviving” her split from estranged husband Jason Biggs after 18 years of marriage.
On Thursday, two months after the couple announced their separation, Mollen shared a video to Instagram of her running barefoot through a field, soaking up the sun and skipping through the grass. The clip was set to the tune of Metric’s 2008 hit “Help, I’m Alive.”
While the scene looked pretty idyllic, Mollen clarified that she is not necessarily in the high spirits that the video depicts.
“So we are clear, I am massively depressed,” Mollen captioned the post. “This is just what surviving looks like.”
In May, news broke that the couple had gone their separate ways. The couple confirmed their split to Entertainment Weekly in May, with a rep for the pair stating that they remain on “great terms” and “remain focused” on coparenting their two sons, Lazlo, 8, and Sid, 12.
Additionally, PEOPLE reported via a source that Biggs and Mollen are “very much connected” and came together with family to celebrate Biggs’ 48th birthday on May 12. “I have no doubt that they will remain on excellent terms,” the source added.
Two weeks later, Mollen broke her silence on the split in an essay titled “Don’t Tell Me What It Is,” in which she shared her plans to take a post-breakup trip to Italy.

“But I’m not going to find myself or sleep with some beautiful Italian stranger,” she wrote. “I already have two half-Italians at home [sons Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8]. I’m actually just going because a friend invited me to her birthday party. It also happens to be my birthday as well.”

She went on to explain her goal of living in the now, rather than worrying about any given fleeting moment.
“When you’re young and ambitious, or maybe just middle-aged with ADHD, it feels impossible to appreciate anything while you’re in it,” Mollen wrote. “The highest highs of my life have all hit like pennies disappearing into a bottomless well. I’d wait- maybe a moment or two for the sound of something landing, but before it ever did, I was on to the next. Hoping that the next thing would finally be the one that cured me- the one that made me feel worthy and validated in a way that has always evaded me.”

Mollen shared more about the split during a June visit to theNot Skinny But Not Fat podcast, admitting that it’s been a lot to process. “I’m single for the first time in 18 years. Like, what is my life?,” she at one point remarked. “It’s surreal. I feel like it’s really bizarre.”

She added that despite the breakup and the fact that they now live separately, she and Biggs remain in close contact while parenting their two young sons.
“We’re still tethered. We have kids. We still talk 18 times a day about everyone’s schedule and after school and holidays,” she shared. “There is this element of, like, it isn’t a normal breakup.”
Mollen and Biggs met on the set of My Best Friend’s Girl in 2007 and were engaged within a year. The couple eloped in April 2008, and that July, had a second wedding ceremony with family and friends in Napa, Calif.
