Queen Camilla is having a day at the races.

The Queen, 78, stepped out at the racecourse at the Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday, March 11, as she hoped to celebrate women in sport on Ladies Day.

The event proved to be a draw for many other royal women as well, with Princess Anne and her daughter, Zara Tindall, also in attendance.

Kate Middleton's mother, Carole Middleton, was also among the attendees and posed for a group photo that also included Zara.

Queen Camilla's outing came a day after she had spoken out in support of women who have been abused or victims of assaults.

Ladies Day provided a fitting moment for Camilla to mark the contribution of women in sport. She is meeting Rachael Blackmore, the first female jockey to win both the prestigious Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup, which is the biggest race of the week.

Blackmore retired from racing in May 2025 and has since been appointed Head of Ladies' Day in a new Ambassadorial role for this season.

There is also jockey Aamilah Aswat, who is riding in the Queen's colors and became the first Black woman to win a jump race in Britain, riding on a horse owned by the Friends of Ebony Horse Club, a London-based charity and community riding center that helps disadvantaged young people turn their lives around through horse riding. Queen Camilla is the charity's president.

Among the other prominent women Camilla is spending time with are two of Red Roses England team that won the Rugby World Cup: Natasha Hunt and Zoe Aldcroft, who also play for nearby Gloucester, and Stephanie Hilborne, CEO of Women in Sport and ITV Racing presenter and former equestrian Alice Plunkett.

During her speech at a reception at St. James' Palace on March 10, Camilla showed her solidarity with victims of abuse. She said, "To every survivor of every kind of violence, many of whom have not been able to tell their stories or who have not been believed, please know that you are not alone. We stand with you and alongside you, today and every day, in solidarity, sorrow and sympathy."

She added, "Every woman has a story. And these stories must be told. Because when we live in a culture of silence, we empower violence against women and girls. It is for this reason that, for 15 years, WOW has been sharing women's experiences through their festivals, inspiring thousands of people across six continents to take action."
