This upcoming week unfortunately brings another round of severe weather to parts of the Central and Eastern US. Tornadoes, large hail and gusty winds are all possible.

Some of these communities were just hit by storms last week.

Sunday

After days of storms moving across the country, the storm system that has caused tornadoes and multiple fatalities is finally set to move offshore Sunday with a final low-level severe weather threat in the Carolinas and coastal Southeast.

Below is the current radar and any watches and warnings ongoing:

Monday

Monday brings an intermission-esque storm system between two larger systems capable of producing severe weather outbreaks. The severe weather threat is focused on the lower Mississippi Valley in parts of Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

There is no organized front moving through the region, but general instability from warm, moist air and a decent amount of wind shear could produce isolated severe storms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail and even a few isolated tornadoes.

Cities: Little Rock, Jackson, Shreveport

Tuesday

Tuesday serves as the beginning of the next more widespread severe storm threat.

A system moving through the Central Plains and Midwest could produce scattered to widespread severe thunderstorms from the Southern Plains into the mid-Mississippi Valley Tuesday and Tuesday night.

All types of severe weather are possible, though we won't know more about the level of threats until closer to the event.

Cities: Chicago, Dallas, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Little Rock

For Wednesday, the threat shifts east and spreads from eastern Texas to southwestern Pennsylvania.

Another day of tornadoes, hail and winds is possible.

Cities: Shreveport, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh

Flood Threat

Along with the severe threat, these storms will also bring heavy rainfall. Some of these areas saw heavy rainfall from last week's storms, so rain will be falling on already-saturated soils in some cases.

Another 1-4 inches of rainfall is possible, with higher totals expected across areas where slow-moving storms train over the same location for extended periods of time.
