Point, Bradley Whitford!

The *West Wing* star is the latest to join the chorus of people, TV shows, and theaters to take offense to Timothée Chalamet's recent diss of ballet and opera.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the premiere of his new film *Reminders of Him*, Whitford was asked for his take on ballet and opera, and he shared his admiration for both art forms. "I knew a lot of opera singers where I studied acting, and I always found it amazing," the Juilliard alum said. "I would be incredibly moved by it, [even] when I had no idea what they were saying."

Whitford then took a direct shot at Chalamet and his Oscar-nominated movie *Marty Supreme*: "I am not that into ping pong, though."

During a Feb. 24 conversation with Matthew McConaughey, Chalamet stepped in hot water when talking about the challenges facing the movie industry.

"I admire people, and I've done it myself, who go on a talk show and go, 'Hey, we gotta keep movie theaters alive. You know, we gotta keep this genre alive,'" he said. "And another part of me feels like, if people want to see it, like *Barbie*, like *Oppenheimer*, they're going to go see it and go out of their way to be loud and proud about it. And I don't want to be working in ballet or opera, or you know, things where it's like, 'Hey, keep this thing alive,' even though it's like, no one cares about this anymore."

Chalamet then quickly added, "All respect to the ballet and opera people out there. I just lost 14 cents in viewership."

*The View*, *Jeopardy*, Doja Cat, the London Ballet, and the Metropolitan Opera are among those to have called out Chalamet over his dig. The heat comes ahead of Sunday's Oscars, where Chalamet is hoping to take home his first Best Actor trophy.
