Whoopi Goldberg isn't letting anyone off the hook when it comes to the Jeffrey Epstein files.

*The View* moderator and EGOT-winning actress called out fellow women amid the slow release of millions of documents related to convicted child sex offender Epstein, the financier who died in prison in 2019 while serving time for his crimes.

"Not only did they protect each other, but we were complicit in all of this. We are complicit," Goldberg said Wednesday from her post on *The View*, as the cohosts alleged that powerful people named in the documents protected other powerful people from being exposed before the release of the files.

Panelist Joy Behar cut in to ask, "How?" before Goldberg assured her, "I'm going to tell you how. Women didn't say, 'Hey, don't do that. Don't stand up for that.' Women did not stand up for other women. Women saw what was going on and didn't say, 'Stop this.' They didn't come out and say this was going on."

Sunny Hostin then dropped the name of Epstein's accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell — also currently in prison over her role in Epstein's dealings — as an example of a woman whose actions support Goldberg's point.**

Again, Behar cut in to clarify, "What do you mean 'we?'" she asked.

"I mean women. Listen, for years, men had the ability, men thought that it was okay to treat women this way," Goldberg told her colleague. "We see it on television all the time. And until we stand up, until women stand up and say, never again, not anymore."

The panelists praised the women leading the charge for justice for Epstein's multiple victims, including Bill Gates' ex-wife, Melinda Gates.

"They're standing up where other women are not, and that's the point here. Everybody has to take some responsibility for this, because unless you recognize what it meant, what they did to these girls, you're not going to care," Goldberg stressed. "It's important that you recognize what's going on here."

Numerous public figures have been named in the files — including *The Daily Show *host Jon Stewart, who clarified why on Monday's episode of the show.

"Of course, to get ahead of the story, I am also in the files," the 63-year-old told his audience, after his name was invoked in an email between Epstein and producer Barry Josephson, who suggested that "somebody like Jon Stewart could host/narrate the biographical part'" of a proposed Woody Allen comedy special envisioned by Epstein.

Goldberg and Behar earlier addressed currently unfounded rumors that *The View *cohosts were also named in the files, as they spoke to the audience during a July 2025 broadcast.

After Behar brought up allegations that "you and I" are on the list, she turned toward Goldberg, who joked to the audience, "Yes, we're on the list. We're on that list," before clarifying, "No, no, no! You're laughing, but we were placed on that list" by detractors.**

*The View* airs weekdays on ABC.
