Kehlani is savoring her recent Grammy wins.
On Feb. 7, the 30-year-old singer-songwriter spoke to PEOPLE exclusively at an Abercrombie & Fitch fashion presentation in San Francisco, Calif., ahead of Super Bowl LX. She opened up about winning her first two Grammys at the 2026 ceremony earlier this month, for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for her hit "Folded."
"I honestly couldn't believe it," the Oakland, Calif., native, born Kehlani Parrish, tells PEOPLE. "I couldn't fathom that something that I've talked about for so long with so many people that felt like a really distant possibility just came into fruition off of something that we just had no idea was going to go this way."
Kehlani says the song's creation was surprisingly casual. "We just made a song in a room one day and was like 'This is kinda tight, we should put it out' and now, here we are," she adds.

During her acceptance speeches, Kehlani used the platform to condemn recent actions of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
"What I wanna make sure that I say is that everybody is so powerful in this room — and in this room later," she said in her speech, which occurred during the premiere ceremony. "And together we're stronger in numbers to speak against all the injustice going on in the world right now."
She continued: "Instead of letting it be just a couple of you here and there, I hope everybody is inspired to join together as a community of artists and speak out against what's going on. And I'm going to leave this and say, f--- ICE."
After her wins, Kehlani also shared a sweet Instagram carousel celebrating the moment. "To one of the most beautiful moments of my life, thank u for the perfect celebratory drink to pair it with," she captioned the post, which has now reached nearly half a million people.

With the Grammy wins behind her, Kehlani is turning her focus to new music, teasing a highly anticipated album slated for release this spring.
"I'm about to just turn it in and tap it on the butt and give it to you guys," she says. "It has a lot of collaborations that I'm really excited about — some people that I've collaborated with a bunch of times and some people that I've never worked with before that I look up to, and I'm excited."
Kehlani also encouraged fans to join her in Las Vegas for Valentine's Day this weekend. "I have a mini residency at LIV and we're celebrating all the lovers. So if you're in Vegas and you wanna come hang out with me, come do it," she says.
