The pharmacy chain has joined alongside Target and Walmart
A DUANE Reade shopper has found individual face masks and lotions locked in bins as the company implements anti-theft methods.
The pharmacy chain has joined alongside Target and Walmart in locking their gadgets to keep clients from stealing.


The Duane Reade shopper, who didn't wish to be identified, informed The U.S. Sun:
"Once I went downstairs to the sweetness part I noticed all of those particular person products in packing containers.
"At first I noticed the skin care and face wipes, which may be costly relying on what brand you get, so I understood. But then I noticed the individual face masks and nail varnishes in individual bins, and thought that is loopy," they continued.
"Luckily they didn't have what I needed as I was in a rush and doubtless wouldn't have had the time to get it."
One other shopper shared with The U.S. Sun the bag of pistachios they saw behind a anti-theft case at Duane Reade in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The Fantastic brand nuts, which have been originally $11.49, have been on sale for lower than $6 per bag.
Clients have continued to slam retailers for his or her locked cabinets, going as far as to not purchase the merchandise as a result of it was behind glass.
One shopper was making an attempt to purchase multivitamins and melatonin when she found them locked on the shelves.
"They even be stealing the multivitamins and the melatonin," social media influencer Emely Hernandez (@purplereign77) stated in a TikTok video.
"I don't even need to get that anymore because it's locked up."
Other buyers are fearful that locking gadgets has gotten so intense, that the next phase will be patting customers down.
"Oh yes, Kearney was one of the first places I noticed the foolery! I needed to wait for somebody to unlock the Tide at Target's Clifton location," they tweeted on X, formerly often known as Twitter, in response to an image of locked toothpaste shelves.
"Next, we'll need to be padded down at checkout!"
The U.S. Solar has reached out to Duane Reade for comment.
