- Three people were arrested on "suspicion of murder," but were later released, according to the detective chief inspector.

Grammy-winning songwriter Talay Riley — who collaborated with Britney Spears, Dua Lipa, Usher, Ellie Goulding, and Nick Jonas — was found fatally stabbed in London. He was 35.

On the morning of June 5, authorities were summoned to a garden, where responding officers discovered Riley (born Mark Orabiyi). "Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene," Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement.

That same day, three people were arrested on "suspicion of murder," according to Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke. "A 27-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries. After police questioning, a second man, aged 24, and a 25-year-old woman have been released with no further action."

"Our investigation continues at pace," Yorke continued. “I would like to appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident to speak to police. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who might have CCTV or other footage from the morning of the incident that could assist our investigation.”

As word spread of Riley's death, his heartbroken family led the public tributes.

"My heart is shattered! This doesn’t feel real. It feels like a bad dream," his brother Michael Orabiyi (aka Scribz Riley) wrote on Instagram. "Just before he went to sleep we spoke about the future, staying positive and about everything we still had left to do. I never imagined that would be our last conversation… You inspired so many people and your legacy will continue to live on through your music, your family, your friends, and everyone blessed enough to have known you."

Riley's family and management shared a joint statement confirming his tragic passing, and remembered the beloved artist beyond his musical talent.

"For those that knew and loved him personally it is his humour, generous spirit and unmistakable presence that will be missed the most," they wrote on Instagram.

H.E.R. won the Grammy for Best R&B Album in 2019.

The British singer-songwriter earned a Grammy Award for his work on H.E.R.'s song "Lights On" from her self-titled debut album that won Best R&B Album in 2019.

Prior to that, in 2016, Riley cowrote and contributed background vocals on Britney Spears' "Clumsy" and Dua Lipa's "Last Dance."

Riley's complete discography includes some of music's biggest acts, including Usher, Nick Jonas, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea, Jason Derulo, and Chris Brown.
