Paul Anthony Kelly said he trained himself to use his left hand for six months to mimic John F. Kennedy Jr.'s left-handedness in Love Story
"It was so cool to put the blinders on and focus a thousand percent on one thing," the actor said

Paul Anthony Kelly spent months getting into character for Love Story.
The actor explained the lengths he went to portray John F. Kennedy Jr. in the limited series, including forcing himself to be left-handed for several months.
In Variety and CNN's "Actors on Actors" series, opposite The Pitt's Patrick Ball, Kelly revealed he did "everything" with his left hand to seamlessly mirror that detail about JFK Jr.
"I spent six months being a left-handed individual," Kelly, 37, said, adding, "It's not very good, but I can do it."
"[I can] cook with my left hand, eat with my left hand, shake people's hands with my left hand. All the football stuff was all left-hand," Kelly continued. "But it was so cool to put the blinders on and focus a thousand percent on one thing."

Kelly added that his background in modeling was useful in adopting JFK Jr.'s mannerisms and perfecting the "way he moved."

While preparing for the role, Kelly was also "religiously" listening to President John F. Kennedy's Profiles in Courage, which JFK Jr. narrated. Constantly playing the audiobook helped Kelly "find his voice" as the late publisher.
"Every morning when I'd wake up, I'd be on the treadmill listening to it, in the shower or whatever," Kelly said. "I'd listen to it between takes, just to get into his rhythm and flow and speech patterns."
In May, appearing on Deadline's "Take 10," Kelly also revealed his hair routine on set to mimic JFK Jr.'s fluffy cut: "Water, a blow dryer and a good brush every day, several times a day." Kelly added he also had to shave multiple times a day to achieve the clean-shaven look.
"I also had to shave like two or three three times a day, which, never in my life have I had to do that," said Kelly, who will star in the next season of American Horror Story. "That was fun."
